    • Function
      Forms a water-specific channel that provides the plasma membranes of red cells and kidney proximal tubules with high permeability to water, thereby permitting water to move in the direction of an osmotic gradient.

    • Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence analysis of HeLa (human cervix adenocarcinoma) cells labelling Aquaporin 1 with ab168387 at a dilution of 1/200. Cells were fixed with Paraformaldehyde and permeabilised with 0.5% Triton-X100 in PBS. ab150081 (1/200) was used as the secondary antibody.

      The antibody produces a strong, membrane-associated labelling pattern in both MeOH and PFA fixed samples.
