The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Application notesWB: 1/500 - 1/1000. Detects a band of approximately 95 kDa (predicted molecular weight: Isoform 2, 98 kDa; Isoform 1, 154 kDa).
Not yet tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
FunctionPutative Polycomb group (PcG) protein. PcG proteins act by forming multiprotein complexes, which are required to maintain the transcriptionally repressive state of homeotic genes throughout development. PcG proteins are not required to initiate repression, but to maintain it during later stages of development. They probably act via methylation of histones, rendering chromatin heritably changed in its expressibility.
Involvement in diseaseNote=A chromosomal aberration involving ASXL2 is a cause of therapy-related myelodysplastic syndrome. Translocation t(2;8)(p23;p11.2) with MYST3 generates a MYST3-ASXL2 fusion protein.
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the Asx family. Contains 1 PHD-type zinc finger.
DomainContains two Leu-Xaa-Xaa-Leu-Leu (LXXLL) motifs, which may be required for an association with nuclear receptors.
Post-translational modificationsPhosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR.
