ATPG is a subunit of mitochondrial ATP synthase, and is the gamma subunit of the catalytic core, F1. Mitochondrial ATP synthase catalyzes ATP synthesis, utilizing an electrochemical gradient of protons across the inner membrane during oxidative phosphorylation. ATP synthase is composed of two linked multi-subunit complexes: the soluble catalytic core, F1, and the membrane-spanning component, Fo, comprising the proton channel. The catalytic portion of mitochondrial ATP synthase consists of 5 different subunits (alpha, beta, gamma, delta, and epsilon) assembled with a stoichiometry of 3 alpha, 3 beta, and a single representative of the other 3. The proton channel consists of three main subunits (a, b, c).

Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence - Anti-ATPG antibody [2A1AA11] (ab119686)
![Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence - Anti-ATPG antibody [2A1AA11] (ab119686)](/ps/datasheet/images/119/ab119686/ATPG-Primary-antibodies-ab119686-5.jpg)
Immunocytochemistry using ab119686 stained HDFn cells (human). The cells were paraformaldehyde fixed (4%, 20 min) and Triton X-100 permeabilized (0.1%, 15min) with antigen retrieval. The cells were then incubated with the antibody (ab119686, 1µg/ml) for 2h at room temperature or over night at 4°C. The secondary antibody was (red) 594 goat anti-mouse IgG (H+L) used at a 1/1000 dilution for 1h. 10% Goat serum was used as the blocking agent for all blocking steps. The target protein locates to the mitochondria.
