Question 1

Hi, I'm looking to use the beta galactosidase polyclonal antibody (ab4761) for FFPE IHC on human lung tissue. Has this product been successfully used on human tissue via IHC for paraffin embedded sections? If this is unknown would it be possible to get a sample of the antibody before purchase or a reduction in cost if the antibody is unsuccessful? Kind regards, |
ANSWER: |
|
Thank you for your inquiry. I am happy to confirm that ab4761 is tested and guaranteed for IHC-P. The following publication even used this antibody with human/ viral transfected samples: Hachiya A et al. Gene transfer in human skin with different pseudotyped HIV-based vectors. Gene Ther 14:648-56 (2007). I attached the publication for more information on the protocol. Because we carry over 75,000 products, it isn't feasible for us to keep small sample sizes of our products. We are happy to reassure our customers that all of our products are covered by our Abpromise, which guarantees that the product will work in the applications and species specified on the datasheet, or we will offer a replacement, credit, or refund within 6 months of purchase. Question 2

Good afternoon I wonder if you can give me some info on the antibodies you have available. I want to demonstrate Beta Galactosidase in paraffin sections of human lung tissue. Do you have any antibody which would be suitable for this application Thanks for your help |
ANSWER: |
|
Thank you for contacting us. We have several antibodies against beta galactosidase, two of which have been validated for IHC staining of paraffin embedded sections. You may want to consider chicken polyclonal ab9361 or rabbit polyclonal ab4761. These have not been validated in human tissue specifically but should be compatible in detecting the Beta galactosidase protein. I hope this information has been of help. If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us again. |
