I have enclosed the requested blots as per our previous conversation. Please let me know If there is anything else I could provide you. I would really like the issue resolved. I want to clearly state the new lot of antibody is not working as the previous one. Thank you.     Regards,

ANSWER:

Thank you for getting back to me and for providing some further details of the experiments. I am very sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the quality of this product.

According to the originator of ab34992, they tested the suitability of this product for IP in gel diffusion techniques. At this stage, they do not have any supporting published references yet. As soon as we have more information, we will update the on-line datasheet accordingly.

I could certainly arrange a credit note or a refund for you as you requested. Could you please confirm your Abcam Order Number (or your Purchase Order Number), the date or purchase and the name of your Institute.

I look forward to hearing from you

Question 3

Monday 17-October-2011

Hi, I ordered Anti-beta subunit Cholera Toxin antibody(ab34992). lot no GR6241-3. I see signal in western blot analysis. But when I used the antibody for Immunoprecipitation, I don't see any binding with my antigen.I am trying to elute the antigen that binds with antibody. The strange thing is I have previously used the same antibody to immunoprecipitate my antigen. Since I ran out of antibody, I ordered  new lot and it doesn't work. What would you advise me to do ? Thanks. regards

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry regarding ab34992. As my colleague has informed you previously, this antibody has been tested for IP in gel diffusion techniques. The originator, unfortunately, do not have any supporting references. However, they suggest using the antibody at a concentration of around 10 to 50µg/ml for IP. Also it is advisable to titrate around these suggested concentrations in order to find the optimal dilution. Could you please provide some further details of the experiments and an image representing the results with the different bathes? I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation in this matter.
