The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Application notesELISA: Use at an assay dependent dilution.
IHC-P: Use at a concentration of 2 - 4 µg/ml.
WB: Use at a concentration of 0.03 - 0.1 µg/ml. Detects a band of approximately 45 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 45 kDa).
Not yet tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
FunctionInvolved in the regulation of homocysteine metabolism. Converts betaine and homocysteine to dimethylglycine and methionine, respectively. This reaction is also required for the irreversible oxidation of choline.
Tissue specificityFound exclusively in liver and kidney.
PathwayAmine and polyamine degradation; betaine degradation; sarcosine from betaine: step 1/2. Amino-acid biosynthesis; L-methionine biosynthesis via de novo pathway; L-methionine from L-homocysteine (BhmT route): step 1/1.
