Welcome to the Abcam blog

Lest you think that Abcam is based only in Cambridge, UK and that Peter is the only one writing blog posts, it's Kimberly here and I'm happy to report to you from our newly-expanded US office in Cambridge, MA!

These days phrases such as, 'Meet me at The Hotdog Stand', 'I've got The Bullpen booked for 2pm' and 'Remember our meeting last week in The Dugout?' can be heard throughout the office. No, it's not that we've decided to skip the cold Boston winter and go directly to the spring baseball season, due to the recent expansion of our office we had some new meeting rooms to name! Being Bostonians, naturally we named all of our new meeting rooms after the many sites synonymous with our favorite baseball team, the Boston Red Sox, who play at the world-famous Fenway Park!

Our support of the team goes right down to our kitchen, named after the Cask'n Flagon: widely known as the best place to catch the game, short of getting a seat inside Fenway.

This expansion isn't all about baseball though, we now have double the antibody storage capacity so that we can keep more of your favorite antibodies on hand to get them to you faster. We also have room for almost twice as many employees (up to 92!) which means that we'll be adding more Scientific Support and Customer Service specialists to answer all of your antibody questions. It's a good thing we've got more space for new employees especially if you've taken a look at our job postings recently! And because we feel that in no way are work and play mutually exclusive, we've made a special point to include some space for our much-loved Wii and foosball table.

So next time you call Scientific Support to ask a technical question or speak with Customer Service to place an order: ask us about the score of the game and our time in The Bullpen.
