Specificityab50293 binds to Wrb, a composite blood group antigen resulting from the association between Glycophorin A and Band 3. The antibody (also cited as clone no. 7H12) binds to 9% of bone marrow nucleated cells in smears and tissue preparations using immunofluorescent microscopy or flow cytometry.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Use at an assay dependent concentration. ab170192-Mouse monoclonal IgG2b, is suitable for use as an isotype control with this antibody.
Use at an assay dependent concentration.
RelevanceWrb is a composite blood group antigen resulting from the association between Glycophorin A and Band 3. Wrb directly agglutinates erythrocytes, giving reduced deformability and inhibition of malarial parasite invasion (eg P. falciparum, P. knowles). The antigen is thought to be related to Glycophorin A/Band 3 interaction in the lipid bilayer.
