  • Function
    Component of the Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein PRC1 complex, a complex required to maintain the transcriptionally repressive state of many genes, including Hox genes, throughout development. PcG PRC1 complex acts via chromatin remodeling and modification of histones; it mediates monoubiquitination of histone H2A 'Lys-119', rendering chromatin heritably changed in its expressibility. In the PRC1 complex, it is required to stimulate the E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase activity of RNF2/RING2.

  • ab115251 staining Bmi1 in Mouse Pancreatic intraepithelial neoplasia tissue sections by Immunohistochemistry (PFA perfusion fixed frozen sections). Tissue samples were fixed by perfusion with paraformaldehyde, blocked with 10% BSA for 60 minutes at 26°C and antigen retrieval was by heat mediation in Tris-based buffer. The sample was incubated with primary antibody (1/200 in 10% BSA in TBST) at 4°C for 16 hours. A HRP-conjugated Donkey anti-goatpolyclonal (1/1000) was used as the secondary antibody.
