The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Application notesELISA: 1/40 - 1/200. Using antibody at 1/200 dilution in competative ELISA, 1µg per well of BSA-conjugated peptide gives some displacment in the range 0.5 to 1000 µg/ml (max 20%). This might be improved by using lower dilutions (<1/50) or by using an antibody affinity purified on a peptide column.
Not yet tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
FunctionInduces cartilage and bone formation. May be the osteoinductive factor responsible for the phenomenon of epithelial osteogenesis. Plays a role in calcium regulation and bone homeostasis.
Tissue specificityExpressed in the kidney and bladder. Lower levels seen in the brain.
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the TGF-beta family.
Developmental stageExpressed in the developing eye, brain and ear during embryogenesis.
Post-translational modificationsSeveral N-termini starting at positions 293, 300, 315 and 316 have been identified by direct sequencing resulting in secretion of different mature forms (PubMed:17977014).
