The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Application Abreviews Notes
WB Use a concentration of 1 - 5 µg/ml. This antibody has only been tested in WB against the recombinant fragment used as immunogen. We have no data on the detection of endogenous protein.
Flow Cyt Use 1µg for 106 cells. ab170190-Mouse monoclonal IgG1, is suitable for use as an isotype control with this antibody.

  • FunctionInvolved in cell cycle regulation. Could be involved in the growth arrest and differentiation of the neuronal precursors (By similarity). Anti-proliferative protein. Modulates transcription regulation mediated by ESR1. Involved in neurite outgrowth.
  • Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the BTG family.

Anti-BTG2 antibody images

  • Western blot against tagged recombinant protein immunogen using ab58219 BTG2 antibody at 1ug/ml. Predicted band size of immunogen is 37 kDa
  • All lanes : Anti-BTG2 antibody (ab58219)

    Lane 1 : BTG2 transfected 293T lysate (17.4 kDa)
    Lane 2 : Non-transfected 293T lysate
  • Overlay histogram showing HEK293 cells stained with ab58219 (red line). The cells were fixed with 80% methanol (5 min) and then permeabilized with 0.1% PBS-Tween for 20 min. The cells were then incubated in 1x PBS / 10% normal goat serum / 0.3M glycine to block non-specific protein-protein interactions followed by the antibody (ab58219, 1µg/1x106 cells) for 30 min at 22ºC. The secondary antibody used was DyLight® 488 goat anti-mouse IgG (H+L) (ab96879) at 1/500 dilution for 30 min at 22ºC. Isotype control antibody (black line) was mouse IgG1 [ICIGG1] (ab91353, 2µg/1x106 cells) used under the same conditions. Acquisition of >5,000 events was performed. This antibody gave a positive signal in HEK293 cells fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde (10 min)/permeabilized with 0.1% PBS-Tween for 20 min used under the same conditions.
