Target

Anti-Calbindin antibody images

  • ab11426 staining Calbindin in human brain tissue sections by Immunohistochemistry (IHC-P - paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections). Tissue was fixed with formaldehyde and  antigen retrieval was by heat mediation in a EDTA buffer. Samples were incubated with primary antibody (1/5000) for 20 minutes hours at 25°C. A Goat anti-mouse anti-rabbit IgG was used as the secondary antibody.

  • Immunohistochemical analysis of rat retina tissue, staining Calbindin (red) with ab11426.

Tissue was permeabilized with 0.5% Triton X-100, blocked with 2% normal donkey serum and incubated with primary antibody (1/1000) overnight at 4°C. A Cy3-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG (1/1000) was used as the secondary antibody.
  • Western blot of Calbindin antibody - Neuronal Marker from rat kidney using ab11426.

  • ab11426 staining Calbindin in Mouse embryonic brain and kidney tissue sections by Immunohistochemistry (IHC-Fr - frozen sections). Tissue was fixed with paraformaldehyde, permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 and blocked with 1% BSA for 1 hour at 20°C. Samples were incubated with primary antibody (1/1000) for 1 hour at 20°C. An Alexa Fluor488®-conjugated Goat anti-rabbit IgG polyclonal (1/1000) was used as the secondary antibody. Specifically detects Purkinje cells in developing cerebellum and distal renal tubules in kidney.

  • ab11426 at a dilution of 1/1000, staining Calbindin in neurons (Alexa 488 secondary at 1/2000) on 30µm coronal rat brain tissue sections in free floating IHC (see protocol link for detailed description). Image shows cortical neuronal staining observed with 20x objective.

NB: No labeling observed following omission of primary antibody.

Sections were viewed using an Axioplan 2 Imaging microscope (Imaging Associates) fitted with 10x, 20x and 40x Plan-Neofluorobjectives (Zeiss, Germany) and images were taken using a AxioCam Hrm digital camera (Zeiss, Germany) and AxioVision software (Imaging Associates). Imgae recoloured in Photoshop.

  • Mouse Embryonic Stem Cells immunopositive for Calbindin (Abcam ab11426, 1:500). Secondary antibody: Alexa Fluor 488 goat anti-rabbit IgG (1:500). Cells underwent a 5-stage differentiation protocol to generate neurons. These cells were stained after stage 5.
  • ab11426 at a dilution of 1/1000, staining Calbindin in neurons (Alexa 488 secondary at 1/2000) on 30µm coronal rat brain tissue sections in free floating IHC (see protocol link for detailed description). Image [A] shows neuronal staining observed with 20x objective, [B] shows staining with 40x objective.
