The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Application Abreviews Notes
WB 1/500 - 1/1000. Detects a band of approximately 60 kDa.

Calsequestrin always forms high molecular weight aggregates which are unavoidable so they always show up on the top of the gel. This is common for all known anti-CSQ antibodies and has been described in many papers in the past.

ICC Use at an assay dependent concentration.

Target

  • FunctionCalsequestrin is a high-capacity, moderate affinity, calcium-binding protein and thus acts as an internal calcium store in muscle. The release of calcium bound to calsequestrin through a calcium release channel triggers muscle contraction. Binds 40 to 50 moles of calcium. Also binds laminin.
  • Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the calsequestrin family.
  • Cellular localizationSarcoplasmic reticulum lumen. Mitochondrion. This isoform of calsequestrin occurs in the sarcoplasmic reticulum's terminal cisternae luminal spaces of fast skeletal muscle cells. Also mitochondrial according to PubMed:7945294.
