  • FunctionInvolved in the activation cascade of caspases responsible for apoptosis execution. Binding of caspase-9 to Apaf-1 leads to activation of the protease which then cleaves and activates caspase-3. Proteolytically cleaves poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP).
    Isoform 2 lacks activity is an dominant-negative inhibitor of caspase-9.

Anti-Caspase-9 antibody images

  • ab47537 staining Caspase-9 in Human T98G Human brain glioblastoma by ICC/IF (Immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence). Cells were fixed with paraformaldehyde, permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 pH 7.4 for 5 minutes and blocked with 5% BSA for 20 minutes at room temperature. Samples were incubated with primary antibody (1/100 in PBS) for 1 hour. A CF488A-conjugated Donkey anti-rabbit IgG polyclonal (1/500) was used as the secondary antibody.
