  • Specificityab112239 recognizes most macrophages including resident peritoneal macrophages, kupffer cells, but only approximately 35% of alveolar macrophages. ab112239 also labels dendritic cells extensively, granulocytes and cells with morphology of microglia in the brain. It precipitates three polypeptides of M.W. 160, 103 and 95kDa. ab112239 inhibits complement mediated rosettes and is probably the rat equivalent of the Human receptor for iC3b called CR3.

  • FunctionIntegrin alpha-M/beta-2 is implicated in various adhesive interactions of monocytes, macrophages and granulocytes as well as in mediating the uptake of complement-coated particles. It is identical with CR-3, the receptor for the iC3b fragment of the third complement component. It probably recognizes the R-G-D peptide in C3b. Integrin alpha-M/beta-2 is also a receptor for fibrinogen, factor X and ICAM1. It recognizes P1 and P2 peptides of fibrinogen gamma chain.

Anti-CD11b/c antibody [OX42] (Phycoerythrin) images

  • ab112239 at 0.05 µg/106 cells detecting CD11b/c in Wistar Rat Peritoneal Macrophage cells by Flow Cytometry. 97% more of the cells were stained than in the control. Rat strains Buffalo, Brown Norway and Fischer 344 were also positive in this assay.
