WB 1/25 - 1/50. Predicted molecular weight: 40 kDa.
IHC-P Use at an assay dependent concentration.
  • Application notesIs unsuitable for IHC-Fr.
  • Target

    • FunctionCooperates with MD-2 and TLR4 to mediate the innate immune response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Acts via MyD88, TIRAP and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion and the inflammatory response. Up-regulates cell surface molecules, including adhesion molecules.
    • Tissue specificityExpressed strongly on the surface of monocytes and weakly on the surface of granulocytes; also expressed by most tissue macrophages.
    • Sequence similaritiesContains 11 LRR (leucine-rich) repeats.
    • Post-translational
      N- and O- glycosylated. O-glycosylated with a core 1 or possibly core 8 glycan.
    • Cellular localizationCell membrane.

    • ab49755 staining CD14 in Human epicardial fat tissue sections by Immunohistochemistry (IHC-P - paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections). Tissue was fixed with formaldehyde and blocked with 1% BSA for 20 minutes at 25°C; antigen retrieval was by heat mediation with an EDTA buffer. Samples were incubated with primary antibody (1/150 in PBS + 1% BSA) for 14 hours at 4°C. A Biotin-conjugated Rabbit anti-mouse IgG polyclonal (1/300) was used as the secondary antibody.
