SpecificityRecognizes a (156 kDa) cell surface glycoprotein expressed on virtually all peripheral blood granulocytes. The CD15 antigen is expressed on approximately 95% of human peripheral blood eosinophils and neutrophils and is present on approximately 20% of mature circulating monocytes. This antibody has virtually no reactivity with T or B cells.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Application notesFlow Cyt: Use 1µg for 106 cells.
May be used for enumerating mature granulocytes in peripheral blood.
Not yet tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
RelevanceCD15 is a carbohydrate adhesion molecule (and not a protein) that mediates phagocytosis and chemotaxis.
Synthesis is directed by FUT4 in lymphoid cells and mature granulocytes, and by FUT9 in promyelocytes and monocytes.
Cellular localizationGolgi Apparatus; Membrane-bound form in trans cisternae of Golgi.
