  • SpecificityIt recognizes a 95/115/135kDa (dependent upon the extent of glycosylation) cell surface glycoprotein, identified as CD43 (leukosialin, sialophorin, or leukocyte sialoglycoprotein. CD43 is expressed on all thymocytes and T-cells. This antibody is useful for identification and classification of T-cell malignancies and low grade B-cell lymphoma.

  • Application notesThis antibody is ready to use.
    Heat mediated antigen retrieval can be used.
    However, for optimum fixation, tissues should be fixed in either B-5 or an alcohol-based fixation, in which case no pretreatment is necessary.
    In most cases using optimal fixation, dilution of the primary antibody can be increased 2-4 fold.
    We recommend incubating sections with the antibody for 30-60 minutes at room temperature.
  • Target

    • FunctionOne of the major glycoproteins of thymocytes and T lymphocytes. Plays a role in the physicochemical properties of the T-cell surface and in lectin binding. Presents carbohydrate ligands to selectins. Has an extended rodlike structure that could protrude above the glycocalyx of the cell and allow multiple glycan chains to be accessible for binding. Is a counter receptor for SN/Siglec-1 (By similarity). During T-cell activation is actively removed from the T-cell-APC (antigen-presenting cell) contact site thus suggesting a negative regulatory role in adaptive immune response.
