The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Use at 10 µg/mg of lysate.
Application notesIs unsuitable for WB.
FunctionComponent of the CENPA-NAC (nucleosome-associated) complex, a complex that plays a central role in assembly of kinetochore proteins, mitotic progression and chromosome segregation. The CENPA-NAC complex recruits the CENPA-CAD (nucleosome distal) complex and may be involved in incorporation of newly synthesized CENPA into centromeres. CENP-T is one of the basic inner kinetochore proteins with most further proteins binding downstream, suggesting a fundamental role of CENP-T in kinetochore function.
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the CENPT family.
Post-translational modificationsPhosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR.
Cellular localizationNucleus. Chromosome > centromere > kinetochore. Localizes exclusively in the kinetochore domain of centromeres.
Detection of CENPT by Western Blot of Immunprecipitate.
Lane 1: An antibody to CENPT at 1µg/ml staining CENPT in HeLa whole cell lysate immunoprecipitated using ab114120 at 10µg/mg lysate (1 mg/IP; 20% of IP loaded/lane). Lane 2: Control IgG
Detection: Chemiluminescence with exposure time of 3 seconds.
