Overview

  • Product name
    Chelerythrine chloride
  • Description
Cell-permeable, selective protein kinase C inhibitor. Apoptosis inducer.
  • Alternative names
    • 1,2-Dimethoxy-N-methyl(1,3)benzodioxolo(5,6-c)phenanthridinium chloride
    • Toddalin chloride
  • Biological description

Cell-permeable, selective inhibitor of protein kinase C (IC50 = 0.66 μM); Competitive with respect to the phosphate acceptor and non-competitive with respect to ATP. Activates MAPK pathways, independent of PKC inhibition. Inhibits BclXL function (IC50 = 1.5 μM) by displacing Bax binding, inducing apoptosis in several cancer cell lines.
