  • Specificityab73053 binds to intact whole Clostridium botulinum B Toxoid, amino acids 1278-1291. It has been found to stain Neuro2A cells treated with GT1b ganglioside prior to the addition of Clostridium botulinum B Toxoid. It inhibits the entry of Clostridium botulinum B Toxoid to Neuro2A cells treated with GT1b ganglioside prior to the addition of the toxin.   • RelevanceC. botulinum is a large anaerobic bacillus that is widely distributed wherever there is organic material (e.g. soil, sediments of lakes and ponds, decaying vegetation). Seven toxigenic types of the organism exist, producing immunologically distinct forms of botulinum toxin (A, B, C1, D, E, F, and G). A multivalent toxoid (a toxin modified to remove the toxic properties but maintain the ability to stimulate an immune reaction) evokes good protective antibiody response.
