    Mouse monoclonal [LH7.2] to Collagen VII
  • SpecificityThis antibody shows no cross-reaction with Type I, II, III, IV, and V collagens, laminin, and fibronectin. It reacts with the basement membrane zone of stratified squamous epithelia. It is useful in differentiating invasive from non-invasive melanoma through clear visualization of appearance and integrity of epidermal basement membrane. It is also helpful in the identification of recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (RDEB) in which Type VII collagen is defective.

    Insoluble fractions of Human neonatal foreskin epidermal cells.

  • EpitopeOn non-helical (non-collagenous) C-terminal region of collagen VII and is resistant to collagenase, trypsin, pronase, neuraminidase, chondroitinase, and hyaluronidase. However, it is lost by digestion of collagen VII with pepsin.
