We use a number of analytical techniques to confirm the quality and purity of our products including:
NMR - Confirms we have the right structure and shows any impurities and residual solvent. 
If there are any impurities or residual solvents in our products they are in a concentration of no more than 1 % - this is very strict and difficult to obtain.
Many suppliers are not so worried about products containing residual solvents and worry only about the headline purity i.e. >98% even if there is an impurity of 1.999%.
HPLC - Measures purity 
Microanalysis
Ensures we have the correct ratio of atoms – the right number of carbons, hydrogens, nitrogens etc
Ensures we publish the correct formula and molecular weight
Enables the researcher to formulate the correct concentration of stock solution
Shows level of hydration and ratio of product to salt (i.e. monohydrochloride or dihydrochloride)
Not all suppliers will analyses their products by microanalysis which means you cannot guarantee accurate molecular formula and risks making the wrong concentration of solution.
Mass Spectrometry - Confiormation that the product has the correct mass    
Optical Rotation - If a molecule is chiral (i.e. (+) or (-); (R) or (S)) this will confirm if we have all (+) or all (-); all (R) or all (S) why is this important? What impact does this have on biology? Why should a biologist care about this?
TLC - Ensures there is only one component
Physical Appearance - i.e. White solid
Solubility - We test the solubility in a number of biologically suitable solvents (water, DMSO and ethanol). View all our water soluble compounds that make up our just-add water range.

We maintain standards between batches to ensure batch consistency, therefore you should see no change in activity between two batches of the sample product. This means less time optimising and more time on your research.
We carry out routine stability tests on our products and react quickly to any purity issues raised by customers. Details are provided on the Certificate of Authenticity that accompanies each product, and these are also available online.
