  • FunctionTransports retinoic acid to the nucleus. Regulates the access of retinoic acid to the nuclear retinoic acid receptors.
  • Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the calycin superfamily. Fatty-acid binding protein (FABP) family.
  • DomainForms a beta-barrel structure that accommodates hydrophobic ligands in its interior.
  • Cellular localizationCytoplasm. Nucleus. Upon ligand binding, a conformation change exposes a nuclear localization motif and the protein is transported into the nucleus.

  • ab74365 staining CRABP2 in Human Schwann Cells by ICC (Immunocytochemistry). Cells were fixed with formaldehyde, permeabilized with 0.1% Triton in PBS and blocked with 1% BSA for 1 hour at 25°C. Samples were incubated with primary antibody (1/100 in PBS + 1% BSA) for 1 hour at 25°C. An Biotin-conjugated Goat anti-rabbit IgG polyclonal (1/100) was used as the secondary antibody.
