Mouse monoclonal [AE3] to Cytokeratin 1 - 8, prediluted
Specificityab32455 reacts with most of the Basic (Type II) keratins. Including epidermal cell keratin of 86 and 58kD and skin at 58kD, 65kD and 67kD. Broad keratin reactivity is found on human epidermal cell, oesophagus and cornea.
Since each epithelium contains at least one basic keratin, AE3 is broadly reactive and stains positively almost all epithelia and their neoplasms.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Application notesIHC-Fr: Use neat
IHC-FoFr: Use neat.
IHC-P: Use neat. This product requires protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections e.g. trypsin or pronase.
Not yet tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
RelevanceThe intermediate filaments of mammalian epithelial cells are obligate heteropolymers built from two classes of IF protein: type I and type II keratins. These type-specific distinctions are based on biochemical properties such as protein molecular weight and isoelectric point: type I keratins are smaller (4065 kDa) and more acidic (pI 4.5-6.0) than type II keratins (5070 kDa, pI 6.5-8.5) Eight type II epithelial keratins exist (K1K8).
