  • FunctionInhibits cell growth by regulating the TOR signaling pathway upstream of the TSC1-TSC2 complex and downstream of AKT1. Promotes neuronal cell death.
  • Tissue specificityBroadly expressed, with lowest levels in brain, skeletal muscle and intestine. Up-regulated in substantia nigra neurons from Parkinson disease patients (at protein level).
  • Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the DDIT4 family.
  • Cellular localizationCytoplasm.

Predicted band size : 25 kDa
Observed band size : 25 kDa
  • ab63059, at 1/50 dilution, staining DDIT4 in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded human lung carcinoma tissue by immunohistochemistry. ab63059 was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining.
  • ab63059 staining DDIT4 in Human artery tissue sections by Immunohistochemistry (IHC-P - paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections). Tissue was fixed with formaldehyde and blocked with 20% serum for 60 minutes at 21°C; antigen retrieval was by heat mediation in a citrate buffer. Samples were incubated with primary antibody (1/20) for 16 hours at 4°C. A Biotin-conjugated Goat anti-rabbit polyclonal (1/250) was used as the secondary antibody.
