The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
1/100 - 1/500. Perform heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH 9.0 before commencing with IHC staining protocol.
1/5000 - 1/15000. Detects a band of approximately 54 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 54 kDa).
Use at 2-5 µg/mg of lysate.
RelevanceDEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. They are implicated in a number of cellular processes involving alteration of RNA secondary structure such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly. Based on their distribution patterns, some members of this family are believed to be involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis and cellular growth and division. In the process of mRNA degradation, DDX6 may play a role in mRNA decapping. It forms a complex with DCP1A, DCP2, EDC3 and EDC4/HEDLS.
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections) analysis of human colon carcinoma (left) and mouse renal cell carcinoma (right) tissues labelling DDX6 with ab70455 at 1/200 (1µg/ml). Detection: DAB.
