Recombinant Fragment Predicted to work with:
Mouse, Rat, Sheep, Cow, Human, Orangutan
Recombinant fragment: SGHFIAEHYM FLKGHETYSY YGPLNLLTFN VGYHNEHHDF PNIPGKSLPL VRKIAAEYYD NLPHYNSWIK VLYDFVMDDT ISPYSRMKRH QKGEMVLE, corresponding to amino acids 226-323 of Human DEGS1 (NP_003667), with a tag of 26kDa.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Use at an assay dependent dilution. Detection limit for recombinant tagged DEGS1 is approximately 0.3ng/ml as a capture antibody.
This antibody has only been tested against the recombinant fragment used as immunogen. We have no data on the detection of endogenous protein.
RelevanceDEGS1 is a member of the membrane fatty acid desaturase family which is responsible for inserting double bonds into specific positions in fatty acids. It contains three His containing consensus motifs that are characteristic of a group of membrane fatty acid desaturases. It has sphingolipid-delta-4-desaturase activity and converts D-erythro-sphinganine to D-erythro-sphingosine (E-sphing-4-enine).
Cellular localizationEndoplasmic reticulum membrane; Multi pass membrane protein.
