  • SpecificityThe affinity of this antibody for dopamine-BSA is 10 nM and for noradrenaline-BSA is 100 nM. Affinity for unconjugated catecholamines(dopamine, noradrenaline, adrenaline) is lower (approx. 100 µM). At 1 uM, this antibody inhibits dopamine binding to membrane receptor from human corpus striatum. Cross-reactivity (%): Dopamine = 100% Noradrenaline = <15% Adrenaline = <10% Normetanephrine = 0% 3-methoxy-tyramine = 0% L-DOPA = 0% Homovanillic acid = 0% Vanillic acid = 0% Vanillylmandelic acid = 0% 4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl glycol = 0% 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid = 0% Tyramine = 0% beta-phenylethylamine = 0% Amphetamine = 0%

Target

  • RelevanceDopamine (C6H3OH)2-CH2CH2NH2)is a catecholamine neurotransmitter in the brain. Its chemical name is 4-(2-aminoethyl)benzene-1,2-diol. Dopamine is a hormone released by the hypothalamus. Its main function is to inhibit the release of prolactin from the anterior lobe of the pituitary. It can be used as a sympathomimetic drug, producing effects such as increased heart rate and blood pressure.

Anti-Dopamine antibody [2B11] images

  • ab1001 staining human adrenal tissue sections by IHC-P.  Sections were formaldehyde fixed and subjected to heat mediated antigen retrieval in citrate buffer (pH 6) prior to blocking in 1% serum for 30 minutes at 22°C.  The primary antibody was diluted 1/1000 and incubated with the sample for 30 minutes at 22°C.  A HRP conjugated goat anti-mouse antibody diluted 1/400 was used as the secondary.

This antibody should work in IHC on paraformaldehyde-fixed tissue without glutaraldehyde. However, we do not have any information on how well this antibody will work on macaca brain sections.
