SpecificityAnti-Mouse EphA8 recognizes recombinant mouse EphA8 by immunoblotting and ELISA.
The antibody shows approximately 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant rat EphA5, recombinant mouse EphA2, recombinant mouse EphA3, recombinant mouse EphA6, recombinant mouse EphA7, and recombinant human EphA1.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Application notesELISA: Use at a concentration of 0.5 - 1 µg/ml. For ELISAs, a working antibody concentration of 0.5-1.0 µg/ml is recommended. The detection limit for recombinant mouse EphA8 is approximately 0.3 ng/well.
WB: Use at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 µg/ml. Detects a band of approximately 120 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 120 kDa). The detection limit for recombinant mouse EphA8 is approximately 2 ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions.
Not tested in other applications.
Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
FunctionReceptor for members of the ephrin-A family.
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the protein kinase superfamily. Tyr protein kinase family. Ephrin receptor subfamily. Contains 2 fibronectin type-III domains. Contains 1 protein kinase domain. Contains 1 SAM (sterile alpha motif) domain.
Post-translational modificationsPhosphorylation on Tyr-616 is critical for association with FYN. Phosphorylation on Tyr-839 modulates tyrosine kinase activity.
