Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab9990 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Application Abreviews Notes
ELISA Use a concentration of 0.5 µg/ml. (using 100µl/well antibody solution). Allows the detection of 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hFGF-17.
Neutralising Use a concentration of 0.02 - 0.035 µg/ml. for one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of hFGF-17 (1.5 ng/ml).
WB Use a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 µg/ml.
Sandwich ELISA Use at an assay dependent concentration. Can be paired for Sandwich ELISA with Mouse monoclonal [MM0284-5H27] to FGF17 (ab89270). For sandwich ELISA, use this antibody as Detection at 0.5µg/ml with Ab89270 as Capture.

  • FunctionPlays an important role in the regulation of embryonic development and as signaling molecule in the induction and patterning of the embryonic brain. Required for normal brain development.
  • Tissue specificityPreferentially expressed in the embryonic brain.
  • Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the heparin-binding growth factors family.
  • Developmental stageDetected in embryos at E14.5, but not at E10.5 and E19.5. Preferentially expressed in the neuroepithelia of the isthmus and septum of the embryonic brain at E14.5.
  • Cellular localizationSecreted.
