Application Abreviews Notes
WB Use a concentration of 1 - 2 µg/ml. Detects a band of approximately 52 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 50 kDa).Can be blocked with Mouse FOXP3 peptide (ab15736).
IHC-FoFr 1/300.

  • FunctionProbable transcription factor. Plays a critical role in the control of immune response.
  • Involvement in diseaseDefects in FOXP3 are the cause of immunodeficiency polyendocrinopathy, enteropathy, X-linked syndrome (IPEX) [MIM:304790]; also known as X-linked autoimmunity-immunodeficiency syndrome. IPEX is characterized by neonatal onset insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, infections, secretory diarrhea, trombocytopenia, anemia and eczema. It is usually lethal in infancy.

  • Immunohistochemistical detection of FOXP3 using antibody ab15590 on paraformaldehyde perfusion fixed mouse heart tissue sections. Primary antibody  ab15590 diluted at 1/300 and incubated for 18 hours @ 20°C in PBS + 0.3 % Triton X100. Secondary antibody: Goat anti-rabbit biotin conjugated (1/300). Immunoreactivity visualised by DAB; the antibody produced a puctuated and cytoplasmic staining in cardiac cells.
