Target

  • FunctionThis potassium channel may be involved in the regulation of insulin secretion by glucose and/or neurotransmitters acting through G-protein-coupled receptors. Inward rectifier potassium channels are characterized by a greater tendency to allow potassium to flow into the cell rather than out of it. Their voltage dependence is regulated by the concentration of extracellular potassium; as external potassium is raised, the voltage range of the channel opening shifts to more positive voltages. The inward rectification is mainly due to the blockage of outward current by internal magnesium.

Anti-GIRK2 antibody images

  • Ab65096 staining of GIRK2 in rat brain (substantia nigra) tissue sections by Immunohistochemistry (IHC-P - paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections). Heat-mediated antigen retrieval was carried out using citric acid. Samples were incubated with primary antibody (1/1000) for two hours at room temperature. A Biotin-conjugated horse anti-goat IgG polyclonal was used as the secondary antibody.

    Additional bands at : 35 kDa. We are unsure as to the identity of these extra bands.
    Primary incubation was 1 hour. Detected by chemiluminescence.
