The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Use at an assay dependent dilution.
Use a concentration of 1 - 2 µg/ml.
FunctionProtects cells against membrane lipid peroxidation and cell death. Required for normal sperm development and male fertility. Could play a major role in protecting mammals from the toxicity of ingested lipid hydroperoxides. Essential for embryonic development. Protects from radiation and oxidative damage.
Tissue specificityPresent primarily in testis.
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the glutathione peroxidase family.
Western blot - Glutathione Peroxidase 4 antibody [1H11] (ab16739)
Ab16739 at a concentration of 1µg/ml lysate immunoprecipitating approx. 22kDa Glutathione peroxidase 4 from HL60 cell lysate (lane 2). Ab16800 was used to stain the Westrn blot. Lane 1) contains non-immunoprecipitated HL60 cell lysate.
