Relevancegp64 is an envelope protein of the baculovirus Autographa californica (AcMNPV). It is a phosphoglycoprotein which is located on the surface of both infected cells and budded virions. It is suggested that the virus entry into cells is primarily by the endocytic pathway and that this protein may play a role in fusion of the viral envelope with the endosomal membrane.
