    • FunctionReceptor for bile acid. Bile acid-binding induces its internalization, activation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase and intracellular cAMP production. May be involved in the suppression of macrophage functions by bile acids.

In digestive tissues, it is expressed in stomach, duodenum, ileocecum, ileum, jejunum, ascending colon, transverse colon, descending colon, cecum and liver, but not in esophagus and rectum.

      Predicted band size : 37 kDa
      Observed band size : 33 kDa (why is the actual band size different from the predicted?)
      Additional bands at : 50 kDa. We are unsure as to the identity of these extra bands.
    • ab71988 at 5µg/ml staining GPCR TGR5 in human kidney tissue section by Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA fixed paraffin embedded tissue section). The top left image show staining with the Isotype control antibody, the bottom left and right image show staining with ab71988.
