ab194881 labels a diffuse band at 87-89 kDa in PC-GPCR56 sample and in heart samples. Based on antigen homology to other species, the antibody is expected to label rat (85%) and mouse (85%) GPR56 protein. ab194881 has not yet tested for cross reactivity to other species.
Synthetic peptide within Human GPR56 (extracellular) conjugated to Keyhole Limpet Haemocyanin (KLH). The exact sequence is proprietary. Synthetic peptide taken form the large extracellular loop of the human GPCR56 protein. Database link: Q9Y653
GPR56 protein, heart tissue lysate
Shipped at 4°C. Store at +4°C short term (1-2 weeks). Upon delivery aliquot. Store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze / thaw cycle.
Widely distributed with highest levels found in thyroid gland, brain and heart. Expressed in a great number of tumor cells.
Involvement in disease
Polymicrogyria, bilateral frontoparietal (BFPP) [MIM:606854]: A malformation of the cortex in which the brain surface is irregular and characterized by an excessive number of small gyri with abnormal lamination, most severe in the frontoparietal regions. BFPP clinical manifestations include developmental and psychomotor delay, cerebellar and pyramidal signs, truncal ataxia, seizures, hyperreflexia. Polymicrogyria is a heterogeneous disorder, considered to be the result of postmigratory abnormal cortical organization. Note=The disease is caused by mutations affecting the gene represented in this entry.
Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 2 family. LN-TM7 subfamily. Contains 1 GPS domain.
The endogenous protein is proteolytically cleaved into 2 subunits, an extracellular subunit and a seven-transmembrane subunit.

Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections) - Anti-GPR56 antibody - Extracellular domain (ab194881)This image is courtesy of an Abreview submitted by Oladapo Olaniru.
ab194881 staining GPR56 in Mouse pancreas tissue sections by Immunohistochemistry (IHC-P - paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections). Tissue was fixed with paraformaldehyde and blocked with 1% BSA for 10 minutes at 25°C; antigen retrieval was by heat mediation in a citrate buffer. Samples were incubated with primary antibody (1/100 in blocking buffer) for 15 hours at 4°C. An Alexa Fluor® 488-conjugated Donkey anti-rabbit IgG polyclonal (1/200) was used as the secondary antibody.
