Target

  • RelevanceHepatitis B virus (HBV) is a human pathogen, causing serious liver disease. The HBV surface protein antigens (HBsAg) are comprised of three carboxyl co terminal HBs proteins termed large (LHBs), middle (MHBs) and small (SHBs, also called major) protein. LHBs and MHBs also share the highly hydrophobic, repetitive, membrane spanning S domain. In addition, MHBs has a 55 amino acid region called preS2.

Anti-HBV PreS2 antibody [H.11] images

  • ab30923 staining HBV PreS2 in Human hepatoma cell by ICC/IF (Immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence). Cells were fixed with paraformaldehyde, permeabilized with 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked with 1% milk for 30 minutes at room temperature. Samples were incubated with primary antibody (1/250 in 1% milk) for 30 minutes. An Alexa Fluor® 488-conjugated Goat anti-mouse IgG polyclonal (1/400) was used as the secondary antibody.

  • All lanes : Anti-HBV PreS2 antibody [H.11] (ab30923) at 1/200 dilution

Lane 1 : HepG2.whole cell lysate (does not contain Hepatitis B Virus)
Lane 2 : HepG2.2.2.15 whole cell lysate (contain Hepatitis B Virus)

Lysates/proteins at 50 µg per lane.

    Secondary
Sheep anti mouse conjugated to HRP at 1/2000 dilution
    Developed using the ECL technique

    Performed under reducing conditions.

Observed band size : 27,38 kDa (why is the actual band size different from the predicted?)

    Exposure time : 5 minutes

Thank you for your email. I was informed that the immunogen of the anti-HBV PreS2 antibody [H.11] was the recombinant human HBV PreS2 section from the UniProt ID Q8JKF1. According to my research this refers to the amino acids 120 to 174 which read ...
