Acetylation of histone H3 at lysine 9 (K9) is a mark of active chromatin and appears to have a dominant role in histone deposition and chromatin assembly in some organisms. Increased H3 (acetyl K9) may also reflect a decrease in H3 (methyl K9) associated with gene repression.
Histone H3 (acetyl K9) Assay Kit (In Situ) (ab115101) allows the user to measure in situ acetylation of histone H3K9 at tremendously fast speeds and consistency, superior and safer than all other current methods. The kit is ready-to-use and provides all the essential components needed to carry out a successful assay experiment. ab115101 is suitable for specifically measuring in situ histone H3K9 acetylation using cultured adherent cells.
