• Product name
    Anti-HLA E antibody [MEM-E/08]
See all HLA E primary antibodies
  • Description
Mouse monoclonal [MEM-E/08] to HLA E
  • Host species
  • Specificity
The antibody recognized native surface-expressed HLA E, but not denaturated heavy chain of HLA E. The published results revealed that antibody is remarkably specific for HLA E, only with weak cross-reactivity with following classical MHC Class I molecules: HLA A24, B7, B27, B51, B54, C7.

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab11821 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Application Abreviews Notes
WB Use a concentration of 1 µg/ml. Detects a band of approximately 40 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 40 kDa).
Flow Cyt Use a concentration of 4 µg/ml.

Tested on HLA-E transfected human cell line LCL 721.221

ab170190 - Mouse monoclonal IgG1, is suitable for use as an isotype control with this antibody.

IP Use at an assay dependent concentration.

  • Relevance
HLA E belongs to the HLA class I heavy chain paralogues. This class I molecule is a heterodimer consisting of a heavy chain and a light chain (beta-2 microglobulin). The heavy chain is anchored in the membrane. HLA E binds a restricted subset of peptides derived from the leader peptides of other class I molecules.

This antibody was tested on the human cell line LCL 721.221 (HLA-E transfected), dilution 1:50 - 1:500. This antibody reacts with the native molecule of HLA-E. I hope this helps. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions.

Thank you for your enquiry. This antibody perfectly works in flow cytometry but as far as we know, this antibody was not tested on lymphocytes. It was tested in FACS with HLA-E transfected human cell line LCL 721.221. Have you tried titrating ...

Thank you for your equiry. For testing this antibody on FACS was used human cell line LCL 721.221, HLA-E transfected. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need anything further.

Thank you for your enquiry and your interest in our products. This antibody perfectly works in flow cytometry but we have not used HeLa cell line for this study. Perhaps this information can be found in some published paper.

The antibody appears to be very specific and most likely will not reacts with the allele of question. We will update our on-line datasheet with the cross-reactivity results very soon.
