This antibody was thought to work in plants, but the localisation patterns, though specific, were not co-localised with methylated Histone H3 K9 as is found in other species.

This blot was produced using a 4-12% Bis-tris gel under the MES buffer system. The gel was run at 200V for 35 minutes before being transferred onto a Nitrocellulose membrane at 30V for 70 minutes. The membrane was then blocked for an hour using 2% Bovine Serum Albumin before being incubated with ab9057 overnight at 4°C. Antibody binding was detected using an anti-rabbit IgG VHH single domain antibody (ab191866)conjugated to HRP, and visualised using ECL development solution ab133406.
Detection of ab9057 in a blood sample. This result is compatible with other results obtained with other HP1 antibodies (Minc et al., 2000 Cytogenet Cell Genet 90:279 –284). (Manuela Silva, personal communication).
