Abcam’s anti-Annexin V Human in vitro ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is designed for accurate quantitative measurement of Human anti-Annexin V antibody concentrations in cell culture supernatant.
A 96-well plate has been precoated with Annexin V to which cognate antibodies bind. Standards or test samples are added to the wells and incubated. A horseradish peroxidase (HRP) labeled Annexin V conjugate is added to the wells, which is bound by the immobilized Annexin V-specific antibodies. TMB is then catalyzed by the HRP to produce a blue color product that changes to yellow after adding an acidic stop solution. The density of yellow coloration is directly proportional to the amount of anti-Annexin V antibodies sample captured in the plate.
FunctionThis protein is an anticoagulant protein that acts as an indirect inhibitor of the thromboplastin-specific complex, which is involved in the blood coagulation cascade.
Involvement in diseasePregnancy loss, recurrent, 3
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the annexin family. Contains 4 annexin repeats.
DomainThe [IL]-x-C-x-x-[DE] motif is a proposed target motif for cysteine S-nitrosylation mediated by the iNOS-S100A8/A9 transnitrosylase complex. A pair of annexin repeats may form one binding site for calcium and phospholipid.
Post-translational modificationsS-nitrosylation is induced by interferon-gamma and oxidatively-modified low-densitity lipoprotein (LDL(ox)) possibly implicating the iNOS-S100A8/9 transnitrosylase complex.
