  • General notesTissue: Colon Location: Not recorded Diagnosis: Mucinous Adenocarcinoma Stage: III T3N1M0 Grade: II Sex: Male Age: 42 years Macroscopic findings: Tumor size 6 x 6 x 4cm, with ulcerative surface. Cut section soft and white. Paracolic lymph nodes: 6. Microscopic findings: Tissue sections show some glandular cells. The neoplastic cells have coarse irregular nuclei and abundant cytoplasm containing mucin. Some tumor cells are degenerative. Mitotic figures are not evident. The tumor cells were floating in the big mucine and invaded the muscularis propria and subserosa. Lymph nodes show metastasis (4/6). Insoluble protein fraction

  • Purification notesTissue specimens are homogenized in modified RIPA buffer to obtain the soluble proteins, and centrifuged to clarify. The pellet was further extracted with a second buffer to obtain the less soluble protein fraction. The lysate solution may appear turbid at cold temperatures due to insolubility of buffer components. The solution should clear upon warming to room temperature.
