The ACT2 primers can be used as a control locus in chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assays with chromatin prepared from human cells.
Gamma actin is a constitutively expressed gene. The primers are located in intron 3 of the gamma actin gene. Together with the HsACT1 and HsACT3 primers these primers can be used to determine the abundance of a modification (e.g. Histone H3 K4 mono methylation, see image with ab8895) or a factor (e.g. RNA polymerase II, see image with ab26721) over the gamma actin locus.
