Product overview
Abcam’s IL-10RB Human ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human IL-10RB in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants.
This assay employs an antibody specific for Human IL-10RB coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and IL-10RB present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Human IL-10RB antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-10RB bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

Function
Shared cell surface receptor required for the activation of five class 2 cytokines: IL10, IL22, IL26, IL28, and IL29. -
Involvement in disease
Defects in IL10RB are the cause of inflammatory bowel disease type 25 (IBD25) [MIM:612567]. It is a chronic, relapsing inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract with a complex etiology. It is subdivided into Crohn disease and ulcerative colitis phenotypes. Crohn disease may affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract from the mouth to the anus, but most frequently it involves the terminal ileum and colon. Bowel inflammation is transmural and discontinuous; it may contain granulomas or be associated with intestinal or perianal fistulas. In contrast, in ulcerative colitis, the inflammation is continuous and limited to rectal and colonic mucosal layers; fistulas and granulomas are not observed. Both diseases include extraintestinal inflammation of the skin, eyes, or joints. -
