Relevance

The intestinal isozyme of alkaline phosphatase is one of the isozymes of alkaline phosphatase found in the serum of healthy subjects. It is located in the intestinal brush-border. Alkaline phosphatases are non-specific phosphomonoesterases that catalyze a hydrolysis reaction, via a phosphoseryl intermediate, to produce inorganic phosphate and the corresponding alcohol, optimally at high pH.
This polyclonal antibody reacts with alkaline phosphatase from human intestine showing a 60 kD band against this enzyme under reducing conditions of SDS-PAGE.
