    Human lung soluble fraction lysate
  • General notes

Tissue: Lung Location: Right upper lobe Diagnosis: Adenocarcinoma, moderately differentiated Stage: IV T2N1M1 Grade: Not recorded Sex: Female Age: 80 years Gross findings: Right lung pleural surfaces are pink tan, with mild anthracosis. A firm mass can be palpated between the middle and lower lobes. The tumor is located in the middle lobe. The tumor does not appear to involve the pleural surface. The tumor mass measures 3.5 x 3.5 x 3 cm in greatest dimension. Some firm areas are noted on the pleural surface of the parenchyma. These areas are darkly pigmented and measure up to 7 mm in greatest diameter. No additional tumor masses are noted. Right hilar lymph node, excision: Metastatic adenocarcinoma. Right lung: Pneumonectomy: Moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma with extension to pleural surface. Widespread metastatic carcinoma involving additional lobes of lung and five additional hilar lymph nodes. Bronchial margin free of neoplasm.

This product belongs to a range of individual sets of lysates that were extracted from very specific tissues and are gender-, cancer subtype-, tumor grade- and cellular morphology- specific. They allow for consistency, reproducibility, and comparative studies from experiment to experiment, due to the existence of specific (matched) lysates that can be used as controls. Two extractions from each tissue were performed, extraction 1 yielding the soluble protein fraction and extraction 2 the insoluble protein fraction. • Purification notesTissue specimens are homogenized in modified RIPA buffer to obtain the soluble proteins, and centrifuged to clarify. The lysate solution may appear turbid at cold temperatures due to insolubility of buffer components. The solution should clear upon warming to room temperature.
