  • General notes

    Tissue: Lung Location: Left upper lobe. Diagnosis: Large cell carcinoma, well differentiated. Stage: III Grade: III Gross findings: Tumor size 6 x 5 cm diameter. Cut section hemorrhagic and dark red. Axillary lymph node: 1 Microscopic findings: Tumor shows malignant cells. The malignant cells are large and cuboidal or columnar. The cytoplasm is granular and vacuolated with large nucleoli. Nuclei have irregular nuclear membranes. Many monstrous nuclei and neutrophil cells. Axillary lymph node is positive.

  • Purification notesTissue specimens are homogenized in modified RIPA buffer to obtain the soluble proteins, and centrifuged to clarify. The lysate solution may appear turbid at cold temperatures due to insolubility of buffer components. The solution should clear upon warming to room temperature.
