    Tissue: Lung Location: Right upper lobe. Diagnosis: Small Cell Carcinoma Stage: II Grade: Not Recorded Sex: Female Age: 56 years Gross findings: Tumor size 3 x 2.5 cm in diameter, poorly differentiated.Cut section hemorrhagic and red. Microscopic findings: Biopsy shows malignant small cells. The cells are irregular and clear. The cytoplasm stains faintly basophilic. Nuclei have irregular nuclear membranes. The cells have enlarged nuclei with high N/C ratios. Soluble protein fraction.

  • Purification notesTissue specimens are homogenized in modified RIPA buffer to obtain the soluble proteins, and centrifuged to clarify. The lysate solution may appear turbid at cold temperatures due to insolubility of buffer components. The solution should clear upon warming to room temperature.
