The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

  • Biological activityHuman WASP sequence has a two amino acid difference in the region surrounding Tyrosine 291.
  • Applications

Blocking - Blocking peptide for Anti-N WASP (phospho Y256) antibody (ab23395)

    ELISA

  • FormLiquid
  • Additional notes

Phosphorylation at serine and tyrosine residues regulates the activity of both proteins. WASP is tyrosine phosphorylated at tyrosine 291 after antigen receptor activation in B-cells and collagen stimulation of platelets. Phosphorylation of the analogous site in N WASP (Tyr-256) stimulates its activity, reduces nuclear N WASP, and is required for neurite extension.

Human WASP sequence has a two amino acid difference in the region surrounding Tyrosine 291.

  • FunctionRegulates actin polymerization by stimulating the actin-nucleating activity of the Arp2/3 complex. Binds to HSF1/HSTF1 and forms a complex on heat shock promoter elements (HSE) that negatively regulates HSP90 expression.
  • Sequence similaritiesContains 1 CRIB domain.
    Contains 1 WH1 domain.
    Contains 2 WH2 domains.
  • Cellular localizationCytoplasm > cytoskeleton. Nucleus. Preferentially localized in the cytoplasm when phosphorylated and in the nucleus when unphosphorylated.
  • Information by UniProt
